A Miskitu EFL teacher story: A look at an Indigenous EFL teacher experience as a student in an ELT program and its effects on her Indigenous well-being and identity.


A work in progress, this study seeks to investigate the experience of an Indigenous Miskitu EFL teacher, specifically the effect her experience as a student of an English language teaching program had on her Indigenous well-being and identity. The study will be framed by principles of Indigenous re-search (Absolon, 2011), Indigenous well-being (Demmert, 2008), and language teacher identity (Kanno & Stuart, 2011).
