Imagining Life through Alaska Native Frameworks for Research and Learning

This panel features three Alaska Native scholars to describe the ways that life, land, and water are understood in Alaska Native frameworks for research and learning. The first paper will discuss and describe new NSF-funded research with Elders and community on geophysics. Paper two attends to Alaska Native theories of the future and futurity, attending to understandings of time and water that are animated in these theories; The final paper will discuss Unangam theorizations of leadership, and learning to lead. Together, these papers reveal the life forces of Alaska Native conceptualizations of research, change, intergenerational knowledge, and sovereignty.
