Planting Research Seeds of Hope: The Pueblo PhD Cohort Experience
This panel discussion will include an overview of a unique doctoral journey to find meaningful solutions to complex issues facing Pueblo communities in New Mexico. The Pueblo PhD Cohort was a partnership between Arizona State University’s School of Social Transformation, the Leadership Institute at the Santa Fe Indian School and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. ASU faculty traveled to NM to teach classes, so cohort participants would not be uprooted from their tribal communities. Panelists will provide insights and examples of how they incorporated Pueblo epistemologies and methodologies into their research studies on education, Indigenous knowledges, research ethics and brain drain.
