Whose voice should carry the weight? Asking Australian Aboriginal students about their education.
The evidence for my PhD thesis was based on asking Aboriginal students about what was best for them to engage in their education. Three questions were asked on what was good about their school, teachers and curriculum and using student voice as evidence for changes to better engage Aboriginal students in their education. These Aboriginal students voices supported much of the literature that has been developed over the last forty years by Aboriginal pedagogical theorist but these students who are currently entrenched in their own educational experiences emphasised some specific focuses to better engage them and their peers to their education.
